- Prepare the device "61.1.110" - zeroer.
- Turn off the ignition and install a reset device on the diagnostic loop in the engine compartment.
- Reset the maintenance indicator according to the regulations "Oelservice", For what:
- press the yellow button (5. Fig. 2.14)
- the green indicator lights up (3);
- wait until the yellow indicator (4) lights up and goes out again;
- check if the maintenance readings have been reset according to the regulations "Oelservice" on the instrument panel display.
- Reset the maintenance indicator according to the regulations "Inspektion", For what:
- press the red key (1)
- the green indicator lights up (3);
- wait until the red indicator (2) lights up and goes out again;
- turn off the ignition, wait 20 seconds and repeat the entire process so that the annual inspection interval coincides with the scheduled maintenance "Inspektion";
- check whether the upcoming maintenance indicator on the instrument panel display has been reset.
Conducting inspections.
Carrying out checks every 4-6 weeks, start with checking the fluid levels every 400 km or weekly. The car should be parked on a level surface. Normal oil consumption of BMW X5 E53 should not exceed 1 liter per 1000 km. High oil consumption indicates increased wear of the valve stem seals and piston rings.
