Processing of valve seats in cylinder head (BMW 3 Series E30)

Treatment of valve seats with increased wear and burning can be performed on all engines except four-cylinder engines with hydraulic valve clearance compensation (models 318i produced since September 1987 and 316i produced since September 1988.), if the values of the correction angles and the seat widths can be maintained. A rotary device is used to process the valve seats. It is better to entrust this work to a service station.



Valves with reduced edge height H are subject to replacement. Exhaust valve: H = 2.0 mm; inlet valve: H = 1.3 mm.

When machining the valve seat, ensure the specified width by machining the correction angle.



Dimensions during processing: B = 1.65±0.35 mm; a - 15°; b - 45°; 9-75°.

Finally, grind the valves.
