Attention: When reinstalling the parts of the valve actuator, they must be installed in their original places. To do this, when removing them, they must be folded in the order of installation.
Removal, four-cylinder engine
Remove camshaft (see section «Removal and installation of valves»).
Loosen distributor flange (arrows).
Move the rocker arms and thrust rings. Pull out circlips -5- and remove locking pins -6-.
Knock out the rocker axle with a punch.
Remove rocker arms with springs, washers and thrust washers.
Installation
Check rocker arms: replace worn rocker arms or rocker arms with loose sliders (arrow).
When replacing the rocker arm, reposition the through bolt -5-, eccentric -6- on the new rocker arm. washer -7- and nut -8-. In this case, the eccentric must be installed with the thickened side down and the hole out. Screw the bolt in such a way that its beveled side is facing the protrusion of the rocker arm. Then tighten the nut.
Attention: The bolt and nut have a fine thread M6 x 0.75.
Attention: Check rocker axles, replace worn axles.
Insert the rocker axles and align them so. so that the cylinder head bolts fit into the recesses. The sequence of installation of the parts of the valve drive: spring -1-, washer -2-, rocker arm -3-, thrust ring -4-, retaining ring -5-. A - the axis of the rocker arms on the side of the exhaust valves. E - the axis of the rocker arms on the side of the intake valves.
Attention: Shortened springs of the latest releases can be installed together with extended springs.
Insert locking pins -6-.
Attention: The axis of the rocker arms of the inlet valves 9 -7- is open on the rear side. The axis of the rocker arms of the exhaust valves -2- must be closed with a plug. If the plug is loose or missing, insert a new plug with sealing compound, such as Loctite 270.
Screw on distributor flange -1- with new gasket -2- and new O-ring -3-.
Install camshaft (see section «Removal and installation of a camshaft»).
Removal, six-cylinder engine
Remove the cylinder head and place it on 2 wooden blocks.
Unscrew the oil pipe.
Remove toothed belt from upper toothed pulley (see section «Removal and installation of a toothed belt, six-cylinder engine»).
Unscrew the adapter from the camshaft sprocket.
Loosen the camshaft sprocket.
Adjust the maximum clearances of all valves (see section «Checking and adjusting valve clearances»).
Pull out the plugs of the rocker axles.
Pull out the camshaft fixing plate.
Remove the spring clips from the rocker arms.
Remove the exhaust valve rockers. In this case, the cams of the 6th cylinder must be removed from the rocker arms. Move the rocker arms of the 1st cylinder inward and turn the camshaft towards the intake valves until all rocker arms are unloaded. After that, pull out the rocker axle.
Remove the intake rocker shaft. Rotate camshaft towards exhaust valves and move rocker arms until all rocker arms are unloaded. After that, pull out the rocker axle.
Remove rockers.
Installation
Attention: Replace worn rocker shafts and rocker arms.
Install the rocker arms with the large lubrication holes facing down towards the valve guides and the smaller lubrication holes and retainer plate slots facing in.
Put the spring clips on the rocker arms so that the clamp surface enters the recess of the rocker axle.
Insert the fixing plate into the recess of the rocker shaft.
Insert plugs.
Screw on the camshaft sprocket with a tightening torque of 70 Nm.
Screw on the adapter with a tightening torque of 60 Nm.
Install and tighten toothed belt (see section «Removal and installation of a toothed belt, six-cylinder engine»).
Screw on the oil pipe.
Install cylinder head (see section «Removal and installation of a head of cylinders»).
Adjust valve clearances (see section «Checking and adjusting valve clearances»).
