Removal and installation cylinder head covers (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the intake manifolds.

2. Remove the intake manifolds.


3. Unscrew the mounting bolts. First unscrew the rubber supports, then remove the nuts. Remove the cylinder head cover.

4. Replace the sealing gasket. Apply a layer of Hylomar SQ 32M sealant to the sealing edges of the block and timing chain cover.

5. Install the brackets for fastening the ignition timing cover trim, the brackets for fastening the manifold and the ignition wire box onto the cylinder head covers.
