- Brake fluid is poisonous and should never be sucked out by mouth through a hose. Pour brake fluid only into containers that cannot be used by mistake.
- Brake fluid is aggressive and therefore should not come into contact with the paintwork, otherwise it should be wiped off and rinsed with plenty of water.
- Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. Therefore, brake fluid should only be stored in closed containers.
- Brake fluid that has already been poured into the brake system cannot be reused. When removing air from the brake system, also pour in new brake fluid.
- Brake fluid specification: DOT 4.
- Brake fluid should not come into contact with mineral oils. Even the slightest traces of mineral oils in the brake fluid preclude its use or disable the brake system.
- Replace brake fluid once a year. It is better to replace the fluid after the winter period.
- Old brake fluid should be taken to local special waste collection points and not poured down the drain.
