Electric windows (BMW 5 Series E34)

The window lifts operate when the ignition key is in position "2". To turn on the window lift, press the corresponding button.

With its help you can prevent the window lifter from being activated from the rear seat, for example by children sitting there, Additional control options for the electric window lifters and sunroof. After the ignition is switched off and the key is removed (or when the key is in the "0" position in the ignition switch), the electric drive can be operated until the front doors are closed again after opening them once.

After closing the doors, hold the key in the lock in one of the locking positions until the windows and sunroof are closed.

Warning: Uncontrolled or careless closing of windows and sunroof may result in injury. Always supervise children to ensure that they do not play with the power switch.


If there are children in the rear seat of the vehicle, we recommend that you always engage the rear window lock (the safety switch is shown by the arrow)

Always remove the key from the ignition when leaving the vehicle.
