Final drive oil change (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Warm up the differential to operating temperature.

1. Warm up the differential to operating temperature.


2. Place a container under the differential drain hole to collect the leaking oil and unscrew the drain plug (2).

3. Clean the plug and screw it back in. Unscrew the filler plug (1).

4. Fill the differential with oil according to the Specifications in Chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance so that it begins to flow out of the filler hole.

5. Tighten the filler plug and check for oil leaks.
