Remove the hub cap.
Remove the cotter pin and loosen the hub crown nut.
Tighten the hub nut to a torque of 30–33 N·m, while turning the wheel hub to self-align the bearing rollers and remove excess grease.
After tightening the nut, rotate the bearings at least twice, but do not tighten or loosen the hub nut.
To set the proper bearing clearance, loosen the castle nut until the hub and bearings rotate at the same time.
Tighten the castle nut to a torque of no more than 3 Nm, then loosen it to the nearest cotter pin hole.
Secure the castle nut with a new cotter pin.
Examination
The hub bearing clearance is adjusted correctly if the lock washer with the inner nose can be turned quickly and without resistance with a screwdriver.
