Removal and installation the anti-roll bar (BMW 3 Series E21)

Removal

Loosen the self-locking nuts securing the ends of the stabilizer bar to the suspension arms.

Remove the stabilizer bar mounting brackets from the body.

Disconnect one of the suspension arms from the steering knuckle.

Remove the stabilizer bar.

Installation

The stabilizer is installed in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:

• check the condition of the bracket cushions, which are subject to replacement in case of breaks and one-sided "bulging" of the rubber, when their end surfaces are cut;
• each time the stabilizer is removed, replace the self-locking nuts securing the stabilizer bar to the suspension arms.
