Removal and installation the wheel hub (BMW 3 Series E21)

Removal

Remove the front wheel.

Remove the bracket securing the brake hose to the telescopic suspension strut.

Remove the brake caliper and hang it from the body without disconnecting the brake hose.

Remove the hub cap.

Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the hub crown nut.

Remove the lock washer with the inner nose and press off the brake disc assembly with the hub.

Installation

Install the brake disc assembly with the hub.

Install the inside nose lock washer and tighten the hub castle nut.

Adjust the clearance in the hub bearings, then secure the hub nut with a new cotter pin.

Install the hub cap, filling it with fresh grease.

Install the brake caliper and brake hose mounting bracket on the telescopic strut.

Install the front wheel.
