Removal and installation the suspension spring and compression buffer (BMW 3 Series E21)

Removal

Remove the telescopic stand.

Remove the upper strut support, see. "Replacing the shock absorber".

Remove the upper support cup and suspension spring.

Installation

Replace the compression buffer and protective cover if necessary.

Make sure the new spring meets the specifications (free length, color indexes and wire diameter) identical to the parameters of the spring of another suspension strut.

Install the new suspension strut spring so that the coils fit into the recesses of the support cups.

Install the upper support of the rack (see "Replacing the shock absorber").
