Removal and installation the instrument panel (BMW 3 Series E30)

Removal



Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

Remove the lower trim.

Note: To remove the instrument cluster, you may need to remove the steering wheel.

Unscrew the nuts securing the trim "1" from below, pull out the trim "2".

Unscrew the nuts securing the trim «1» from below, pull out the trim «2».


Unscrew 6 screws of the frame frame, pull out the frame frame "1".

Unscrew 6 screws of the frame frame, pull out the frame frame «1».


Loosen the screws on both sides. Pull the instrument cluster out of the dashboard. Turn the steering wheel so that you can pull out the instrument cluster.



Disconnect all connectors.

Disconnect all connectors.


When removing the combination jack from the instrument panel, first pull out the latch "1" from the combination jack.

Installation



Connect all connectors to the instrument panel. Secure the combination connector with a latch.

Insert the instrument panel into the dashboard and secure with screws.

Insert the frame trim and secure with 6 screws.

Insert the frame trim and secure with 6 screws.


Insert the cover plate and secure with 2 screws.

Install the lower trim in the footwell.

Connect the ground wire to the battery.

Check the electrical functioning of the instrument panel.
