Removal and installation the instrument panel (BMW 5 Series E34)

On BMW 5 Series vehicles, the instruments are assembled on the instrument panel. After removing the instrument panel, individual instruments or lamps can be removed.

Removal

Disconnect the class wire from the battery.

Remove the steering wheel.



Loosen the upper screws securing the instrument panel "arrow" and pull the panel out slightly.



Pull the instrument cluster out of the dashboard sideways, then tilt it forward and pull it out.



When removing the combination connector from the instrument panel, first pull out the latch 1 from the combination connector and then disconnect the connector.

Installation

Connect all connectors to the instrument panel. The locking levers must be raised. Secure the combined connector with a latch.

Insert the instrument panel into the dashboard and secure with two screws.

Connect the ground wire to the battery.

Check the electrical functioning of the instrument panel.
