- Warm up the engine to operating temperature (coolant temperature 60°-80°).
- Raise the car.
- Diesel engine: Remove the protective pan under the oil sump.
- Place a vessel to drain the oil.
- Unscrew the plug from the side of the oil sump and completely drain the oil.
Attention: Oil is hot! Risk of burns!
Attention: If a significant amount of metal chips or friction objects are found in the drained oil, there is damage in the engine, for example, crankshaft bearings or connecting rod bearings. To prevent the consequences after the repair, it is necessary to clean the oil channels and oil hoses. Additionally, if installed, the oil cooler needs to be replaced.
