Draining engine oil (BMW 7 Series E32)

            0

Warm up the engine to operating temperature by driving for 5-10 km.

Raise and support the vehicle horizontally.

Open the flap in the lower engine compartment cover under the oil pan by turning the locking screw with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Place a drain pan under the oil pan.

Remove the drain plug (bolt) from the oil pan and completely drain the old oil.

Remove the drain plug (bolt) from the oil pan and completely drain the old oil.

Caution: The oil is hot, so handle with care.

Note: If a large amount of metal shavings and filings are found in the drained oil, this indicates the presence of faults, for example, in the connecting rod and main bearings. To prevent future damage after engine repair, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the oil channels and hoses. In addition, it is necessary to replace the oil radiator (if any).
