Preventative maintenance when changing oil (BMW 7 Series E32)

            0

Preventive maintenance with engine oil change is performed on cars with gasoline engines every 15 thousand km or at least once a year. For cars with diesel engines, oil change is performed every 10 thousand km or once a year. Under difficult operating conditions, such as frequent short-distance trips, city driving, frequent driving on mountain roads, towing a trailer and operation in dusty areas, the frequency of maintenance should be halved.

Engine: Change oil and filter.

Diesel engine: Drain water from the fuel filter.

Air filter: check the filter element, replace it if dirty.

Perform toxic substance measurements and interrogate the diagnostic unit for fault codes (in the workshop).

Heating and air conditioning system: check the cabin air filter element, replace it if dirty.

Brakes: Check the working layer thickness of the front and rear brake pads. Check the parking brake.

Chassis and supporting body parts: check for damage and corrosion.

Check the operation of all electrical consumers.

Cooling and heating system: check the coolant level, top up if necessary. Check the coolant concentration.
