Position of the gear shift lever "N".
Maximum towing speed. 50 km/h! (Models 320i, 325i – 70 km/h).
Maximum towing range: 50 km (Models 320i, 325i - 150 km)
If you need to tow over long distances, the rear of the car must be raised or the propeller shaft must be disconnected from the rear axle gearbox. Alternatively, you can also add 1 liter of ATF oil to the gearbox. Reason: When the engine is off, the gearbox oil pump does not work. Therefore, at high speeds and for a long time, the gearbox will not have sufficient lubrication.
To prevent the steering wheel from locking and to be able to use the turn signals, horn and, if necessary, windshield wipers, turn on the ignition.
Since the brake booster only works when the engine is running, the brake pedal must be pressed harder when the engine is not running!
