Checking the technical condition of the clutch (BMW 5 Series E12)

Clean the clutch housing thoroughly and visually inspect the condition of the rivets and the fastening of the springs of the torsional vibration damper of the driven disk. Check the condition of the working surface and the flatness of the friction linings using a test ruler.

Check the condition of the mating surface of the driven disk on the flywheel. If necessary, grind it (see section "Engine").
