Attention: Noises that occur when the seat belt is retracted are functionally caused. In case of disturbing noises, only the seat belt is replaced. Under no circumstances should oil or grease be used to eliminate noise. The automatic retractor of the seat belts must not be disassembled as the pre-compressed spring may pop out. Danger of accident!
Pull the seat belt fully out and check for broken fibers. Damage can be caused, for example, by pinching the belt or melting it with a burning cigarette. In this case, replace the belt.
If there are scuffs without broken fibers, the belt does not need to be replaced.
Check the heavy-running belt for folds and, if necessary, remove the lining from the B-pillar.
If the automatic belt retractor does not function, the belt must be replaced.
Clean the seat belt straps only with soap and water, never use solvents or chemical cleaners.
