Replacement materials:
- Distilled water.
The battery is located in the luggage compartment under the right side trim for better weight distribution.
Swing the side trim down by the handle.
Unscrew the retaining clip and remove the cover from the battery.
Checking the electrolyte level
For a commercially installed battery, a one-time fill with electrolyte for the entire service life is usually sufficient. However, the electrolyte level must be monitored regularly. In this case, using a densimeter, you can determine battery charge level.
Attention: Do not illuminate the battery with naked flames. Explosive!
The electrolyte level should be approximately 5 mm above the lead plates, i.e. approximately reach the lower edge of the adjacent edge. At a lower level, raise it to the required value. To do this, unscrew the plugs -arrows- and add liquid to each element up to the mark visible through the filler hole.
Caution: Use only distilled water for topping up.
