  • This operation should only be performed on a cold engine.


1. Unscrew the cap on the expansion tank.

2. Put on the device 170101/170105.

3. Create excess pressure and wait for approx. 2 minutes.

The cooling system is sealed if the pressure drop is max. 0.1 bar.

4. Check the safety valve in the lid.

  • 1) Screw the cover (1) onto tool 170106.
  • 2) Using a device (hand pump) 170101 increase the pressure and use the pressure gauge to determine the pressure at which the safety valve opens.
  • 3) Compare the opening pressure of the safety valve.
