The body of the BMW 7 Series is load-bearing. The body parts, side parts, roof and rear wings are connected to each other by welding. The front and rear windows are glued into the body openings. Repair of major body damage, as well as glass replacement, must be done in a workshop.
The hood, trunk lid, doors and front fenders are bolted on and can be easily replaced.
In addition to removing body parts, this chapter also covers removing interior parts such as seats and trim. Since many of these parts are secured with TORX head bolts, you will need a set of TORX wrenches and screwdrivers to work with them.
