There are special multimeters for taking measurements on the electrical equipment of the car. In addition to purely electrical values, it can measure the number of revolutions of the engine, the angle of the closed state of the ignition system, voltage up to 20 V and resistance in the range of 1-1000 kOhm.
If you just need to check whether there is voltage at all, a simple test light is suitable for this (A). It can only be used in circuits where there are no electronic parts. Electronic parts are very sensitive to high currents and can fail when a test light is connected.
Attention: When checking electronic components (diodes, transistors, control units) high-resistance voltage probe required (IN), which works in the same way as a test lamp, but does not damage electronic parts.
