Removal and installation the fuel filler neck (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Empty the fuel tank.

2. Remove the right rear wheel and the rear right wheel arch liner.

2. Remove the right rear wheel and the rear right wheel arch liner.


3. Disconnect the EVAP line.

4. Remove the hose connecting the filler neck to the fuel tank (see illustration).

5. Remove the lower neck fastener.

5. Remove the lower neck fastener.


6. Remove the top fastener of the neck.

7. Remove the neck assembly from the rubber cuff on the wheel arch.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installing the neck, measure the electrical resistance between the ground flag (at the fuel tank filler neck) and the wheel hub - it should be approximately 0.6 Ohm.
