2. Remove the back seat (see chapter Body) and remove the rubber plug. Peel off the insulating mat along the perforation line (dotted line) and drop it.
Sensor on the right side of the fuel tank
1. Loosen the 4 screws and remove the cover.
When installing, pay attention to the gasket.
2. Disconnect the connector. Clamp the fuel line, loosen the clamp and remove the fuel line (on gasoline engines - inlet, on diesel engines - drain).
3. Give the nuts, lift the cover as far as possible and fold it up.
Place the connecting hose under the cover, without fixing it.
4. Press simultaneously on the fuel pump clamps (black case). If the case is white, remove the fuel pump from the cage.
When installing, make sure that both latches are securely engaged. Check the installation of the O-ring on the connection fitting and press it gently into place if necessary.
5. Remove the fuel pump assembly (1) and sensor (2) fuel reserve.
Do not bend the sensor bracket. When installing, replace the gasket.
6. Remove the gauge from the fuel pump.
The sensor is supplied complete with connecting hoses and connectors.
7. Disconnect both connectors (1) on the fuel pump. Loosen clamp (2) and carefully disconnect the spiral hose being careful not to damage the pump fitting.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Straighten the connecting hose and cable before installation (1) between cover (2) and fuel pump (3), to avoid tension.
Sensor on the left side of the fuel tank
The fuel gauge is attached to the fuel tank with a bayonet connection.
1. Remove 3 screws and remove cover.
When installing, pay attention to the gasket.
2. Disconnect the connector located under the cover.
3. To remove the fuel reserve sensor, insert a special key with its ends into the grooves on the sensor housing. Turn the bayonet lock counterclockwise until the mark matches «Auf» with an arrow on the fuel tank.
4. Carefully remove the sensor, being careful not to bend its bracket.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Replace sensor rubber gasket. Insert the sensor so that the marks «Auf» coincided with the arrow on the fuel tank, and then turn the sensor until the mark is aligned «Zu» with an arrow on the fuel tank.
