Air conditioning compressor drive belt (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the drive belt (elastic) air conditioning compressor



1. Remove the front engine crankcase protection panel.

2. If necessary, loosen the air conditioning compressor bracket fastening.

3. Turn the engine in the direction of rotation.


3. Turn the engine in the direction of rotation.

4. At the same time, remove the drive belt (1) using a clean cloth (2) moving it forward in the direction indicated by the arrow.

5. Remove the drive belt (1) forward.

Note: Tool 110330 is required to remove the elastic belt.

6. Place the drive belt (1) on the air conditioning compressor.

7. Using tool 110331, tighten the drive belt (1) onto the pulley in the direction indicated by the arrow.

Note:
  • When installing, check the drive belt for traces of coolant and oil and replace if necessary.
  • In case of subsequent use of the drive belt, take into account the direction of its movement.
