Replacing the adjustment probe (N47)
1. Read the fault codes in the DDE ECU memory, and process the test plans if necessary.
2. Turn off the ignition.
Attention:
- Risk of burns.
- This work should only be performed on a cold engine.

3. Disconnect the connector (1).

4. Unscrew the lambda probe (1) using tool 117020.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm.
Note:
- The threads of new lambda probes are already coated with Never Seez Compound.
- If you are reusing the lambda probe, apply a thin and even layer of Never Seez Compound to the threads only (see BMW Parts Delivery Service materials).
- Do not clean or allow the part of the lambda probe located in the exhaust pipe to come into contact with grease.
- Pay attention to the correct routing of the lambda probe wires.
- When applying anti-corrosion protection to the underbody, the lambda probes should be covered.
5. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
6. Check the recorded error messages.
7. Erase fault codes.
