Replacing the adjustment probe (M57 T2/M57 TU)
1. Read the fault codes in the DDE ECU memory, and process the test plans if necessary.
2. Turn off the ignition.
3. Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
Caution: Risk of burns. This work should only be performed on a cold engine.

4. Unlock the connector and remove it from the guide.
5. Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).
6. Release the wire from the clamps.

7. Unscrew the lambda probe (1) using tool 117020.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm.
Note:
- The threads of new lambda probes are already coated with Never Seez Compound.
- If you are reusing the lambda probe, apply a thin and even layer of Never Seez Compound to the threads only (see BMW Parts Delivery Service materials).
- Do not clean or allow the part of the lambda probe located in the exhaust pipe to come into contact with grease.
- Pay attention to the correct routing of the lambda probe wires.
- When applying anti-corrosion protection to the underbody, the lambda probes should be covered.
8. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
9. Erase fault codes.
