Replacement of decorative moldings (BMW 3 Series E30)
Decorative moldings are attached to body elements using plastic spacer clamps.
Remove decorative moldings by hand or pry them up with a wide plastic spatula.
Example: lower part of the driver's door. Remove the cap (arrow) from the inside of the door. Unscrew the plastic nut located under the cap.
As a rule, the plastic sleeves of the clamps are removed together with the molding. Therefore, you should first remove the sleeves from the pins and insert them into the holes of the corresponding body element.
Straighten bent molding before installation.
After this, align the decorative molding with the holes and snap it in place. If necessary, tap the molding with your palms.
If screws were removed, screw them back in.
