The wheel must be replaced in the following order:
- passengers should leave the vehicle;
- park the car away from the traffic flow (roadside, platform);
- set the wheels to straight ahead and lock the steering by removing the ignition key;
- apply the parking brake and engage first gear or reverse gear in a manual transmission. In a car with an automatic transmission, set the gear selector to position "P";
- turn on the hazard warning lights and put up a warning triangle or flashing light at night;
- prepare the working tool.
The full-size spare wheel type 235/65 R 17 and the compact spare wheel are secured in the vehicle body differently. Install a wheel chock on the opposite wheel. Open the upper and lower trunk lid and install the stop (1, Fig. 1.74) until it is fixed, hook the hook (2) of the stop onto the lock bracket. The lower trunk lid remains in the fixed position until you replace the wheel.

Remove the cover located under the boot floor trim. Unscrew the wing nut, remove the plate and remove the wheel using a wheel lift. Remove the wheel cap, if installed, and loosen the wheel mounting bolts by half a turn.
Unhook the fastening belt, remove the jack and install it at the receiving socket closest to the wheel being replaced (arrow, see Fig. 1.6), so that its support rests entirely on the road, and its console enters the rectangular opening of the receiving socket.

Turn the handle to lift the vehicle so that the wheel being replaced is lifted off the road surface. Loosen the wheel bolts and remove the wheel. Clean and dry the threaded holes for the wheel mounting bolts.
Install the centering pin by inserting its plastic tip into one of the threaded holes for the mounting bolt.
Attention! Bolts must be clean and dry before installation. Do not lubricate bolts and threads of holes.
Install the spare wheel and screw in, diagonally and by hand, the two wheel mounting bolts and remove the centering pin. Install the remaining wheel mounting bolts and only tighten them.
Lower the vehicle and remove the jack. Tighten the wheel mounting bolts crosswise to a torque of 140 Nm (14.0 kgf·m). Check the tire pressure and, if necessary, inflate it, then screw the cap onto the nipple. Install the wheel cap, making sure to follow the inflation valve. The cap is installed with a clicking sound.
Attention! It is recommended to install wheel mounting bolts with "secret" nuts.

Driving with a compact wheel is allowed at a speed of no more than 80 km/h and without sharp maneuvers, since the car "holds the road" worse. Only one compact wheel is allowed to be installed on the car. The speed of movement on the spare full-size wheel should not exceed 210 km/h.
