Salon attributes (BMW X5 E53)

The interior attributes include elements that enhance the comfort of staying in the car. These include sun visors, a glove box and a box for glasses, a rechargeable portable lamp, compartments for storing small items, a crowbar device, compartments for cans of drinks, ashtrays for front and rear passengers, a cigarette lighter, devices for transporting long items, a dividing armrest, a ski bag.

The glove compartment opens by pulling the handle (arrow, Fig. 1.60).



At the same time, the drawer backlight turns on. The drawer closes by slamming and with a key, do not leave the drawer open.

The storage compartment for small items is located on the beveled side of the armrest between the front seats (Fig. 1.61).



The compartment on the armrest is designed for installing a built-in radiotelephone and opens by pressing a button (1). The compartment with a coin bin and a compartment for cassettes and CDs opens by pulling the handle (2). Pockets for small items are also located on the backs of the front seats and on the inner walls of the doors.



The compartment with holders for soft drink cans is located in the central console, under the sliding cover (Fig. 1.62).



The holder on the front panel (Fig. 1.63) opens with a simple press (arrows), to close it you need to push the holder back.

Lowering the rear passenger seat back

To lower the back of the rear passenger seat, you need to grab the bracket (Fig. 1.64) and pull the back towards you.



When returning the backrest to its original position, make sure it is well fixed. Then the red dot under the bracket will not be visible.



The middle seat belt can only be pulled out when the large side of the rear seat back is locked.

Luggage compartment cover

The luggage compartment has a cover that is rolled up and secured behind the backs of the rear seats. You can grab the handle (Fig. 1.65) and pull out the cover.



Secure the blanket to the holders in the rear of the luggage compartment. The blanket can support the weight of light items such as clothing.

Warning! The trunk cover does not withstand heavy and sharp objects. They may cause injuries during sudden braking and maneuvering.

When folding, do not allow the blanket to retract on its own; it must be held, as this may damage it.

To remove the luggage compartment cover, press the button (1, Fig.1.66), at this point, the cassette with the blanket will be unlocked.



Remove the end of the cassette from the mount, holding the other end with your other hand. Then you need to move the cassette in the direction of the side glass (arrow, 2). At this point, the cassette will come out of the second mount and can be completely removed.



To install the cassette with the bedspread, simply insert it into the side fasteners and press it until it locks into place.

Interior features of the luggage compartment

Access to individual units and body elements located in the luggage compartment hatches is closed by covers. To open the side covers, simply pull their handles (Fig. 1.67).



To access the compact spare wheel and other accessories, press the latch and pull the handle (Fig. 1.68) of the boot floor lid, lift it and secure it with a belt loop.



To connect a portable lamp, receiver, TV, vacuum cleaner and other devices operating from +12 V, with a power of no more than 200 W, sockets are located on the side surface, under the covers (arrow, Fig. 1.69), which can be accessed by moving their lids upward.





To facilitate loading/unloading operations, the luggage compartment is optionally equipped with a retractable floor.
