Warning: Do not change a tire while on the road: you risk being hit by another car. On a busy highway, stop on the side of the road. When changing a tire, be careful of passing traffic, as your attention may be reduced while working.

Preparing for work

If you get a puncture, stop as soon as possible.

Stop, if possible, on a level area with firm ground and away from passing vehicles.

If necessary, turn on the hazard warning lights.

If you have a warning triangle, put it up to warn other drivers of your accident.

Engage first or reverse gear (on models with automatic transmission, set the selector to the Park position) and apply the parking brake.

Place a block under the wheel on the other side of the car, located diagonally in relation to the one being replaced. The block for this purpose is stored in the luggage compartment. If you do not have a special block, you can use improvised material - a large stone or brick.

On soft ground, a board should be placed under the jack.

7. Make sure the jack is on solid ground, then turn the jack handle clockwise until there is a gap between the wheel and the ground. Loosen the wheel mounting bolts and remove the wheel. Install the spare tire and screw in the bolts. Lightly tighten the bolts with a wrench and lower the car to the ground.

8 Tighten the bolts securely in the order shown, then install the hubcap. Place the damaged wheel and tools in the luggage compartment and secure them. Note that the wheel mounting bolts must be loosened and tightened to the specified torque as soon as possible (see Technical data in chapter 1).

In conclusion...

Remove the wheel spacers from under the wheels.

Hide the jack and tools in place 8 in the trunk.

Check the pressure in the newly installed tire. If the pressure is lower than the recommended level, or if you do not have a pressure gauge with you, drive slowly to the nearest garage or repair shop and restore the tire to the correct pressure.

Repair the damaged tire as soon as possible.
