Removal and installation mirror glass (BMW 3 Series E36)
Removal
Note: When removing the mirror glass, the car must be at room temperature (around +20°C). At low temperatures, the clamps break easily.
(Figure W 48249) Tilt the mirror glass "5" upwards. It is not necessary to remove the mirror trim or the inner door trim as shown in the figure.
To protect against damage, tape the edges of the mirror and the mirror body with adhesive tape.
Use a wooden wedge to hook the bottom edge of the mirror glass. You can also pull the glass out and release it from the clamps with your fingers.
If equipped, disconnect the heated mirror connector and remove the mirror glass.
Installation
If equipped, connect the heated mirror connector to the new glass.

Position the mirror glass so that the clips are located above the protrusions.
Insert the mirror glass into the clamps and press. Place a cloth underneath to avoid fingerprints.
