Removal and installation rear view mirror glass (BMW 7 Series E32)
Removal
Caution: Removing the mirror glass must be done at a temperature of at least 20°C. At lower temperatures, the clamps (clips) can be easily damaged.
Fold the glass up.
Mirror without auto-dimming

To protect against damage, tape the edges of the mirror and the edges of the mirror housing.
Use a wooden spatula to pry the mirror glass from below. You can also grab the glass with your fingers from below and pry it off.
Auto-dimming mirror

Move your finger (arrow) with a small screwdriver to the right, which will open the plug, and carefully lift the mirror glass.
Pull off the mirror heating plug, release and remove the auto-dimming device plug.
Remove the mirror glass.
Installation
Attach the mirror heating plug, install the auto-dimming device plug and secure it.

Install the mirror glass so that the mounting brackets are located above the protrusions.
Mirror without auto-dimming: Press the glass onto the clamps and secure it. Place a cloth underneath to prevent your fingers from getting dirty on the glass.
Auto-dimming mirror: Press the glass and fix it. Place a cloth underneath to prevent your fingers from dirtying the glass. Move the fixing pin with a small screwdriver to the left until it is vertical.
Check the operation of the rearview mirror.
Removal and installation the exterior rearview mirror housing
Removal
Remove the mirror glass. Auto-dimming mirror
Fold the mirror forward. Unhook the mounting brackets and remove the cover.

Tilt the mirror all the way forward.

Unscrew the screws and remove the housing clip.
Mirror without auto-dimming
Fold the mirror forward. Unhook the mounting brackets and remove the cover.
Installation
Install and secure the housing clip with screws.
Attach the cover. Install the mirror glass.
