Removal and installation the sunroof drive motor (BMW 7 Series E32)

Removal



Pry up the interior light with the lamp mount using a blunt screwdriver and remove the plug.

Pry up the interior light with the lamp mount using a blunt screwdriver and remove the plug.


Pry up the rod with a screwdriver. Disconnect the control switch plug by loosening the lock by squeezing the tabs.

Unscrew the screws with a key. Remove the motor together with the drive and disconnect the plug.

Installation



Installation


Install the motor together with the drive and secure it with two short screws (2) and one long screw (1), tightening them slightly to a torque of 3 Nm. Be sure to use new bolts. If this is not possible, apply a special sealant to the screws.

Place the plug on the control switch, install the cover

Connect the interior light plug and install the light.

Adjusting the hatch and putting it into operation



Set the sunroof to the lifting position, and then hold the control switch down in the lifting direction.



Keep the switch pressed for 5 seconds in the up position after each power outage or after adjusting the hatch.

The start-up is completed when the hatch switch is pressed again briefly in the lifting direction.
