Removal and installation mirror glass (BMW 5 Series E34)

Removal

Insert a narrow screwdriver into the hole in the mirror from below.

Insert a screwdriver into the slots and push towards the car (on the right mirror press away from the car). This unlocks the mirror and removes the glass.

If equipped, disconnect the heated mirror flat connector from the back of the mirror glass.

Installation

Connect the connector to the new glass.

Turn the retainer ring so that the notches in the ring align with the lug on the back of the mirror glass.

Insert the mirror glass, press it down and secure it by turning the locking ring with a screwdriver.

Note: The interior rearview mirror is released by turning the mirror 90° (in a vertical position) and after that it can be removed.
