- Long-term, undamped vibrations of the body on uneven roads.
- The car sways when the road gets uneven one after another.
- The car rears up when accelerating.
- Wheels bounce even on a smooth road.
- Car dives when braking (there may be other reasons).
- Uncertainty in road holding on turns, vehicle skidding.
- Knocking noises when the car is moving.
The shock absorber can be checked by hand. However, the exact check of shock absorbers is performed on a shock tester or a test bench.
Remove the shock absorber.
While holding the shock absorber in the installation position, stretch and compress the shock absorber.
The shock absorber must move evenly and with the same force throughout the entire stroke of the piston.
Under normal operation, small traces of fluid are not a reason to replace the shock absorber.
If the fluid leak is severe, replace the shock absorber.
