Removal and installation mirror glass (BMW 3 Series E46)

Removal

Before removing the mirror glass, warm up the car to a temperature of +20°C. At lower temperatures, the clamps can easily break

1. Fold the mirror glass upward.



2. To protect against damage, tape the edge of the mirror and the edge of the mirror body.

3. Remove the glass from below using a wedge (arrow on the illustration). The glass can also be removed from below using your fingers.

4. Disconnect the mirror heating connector and release, remove the automatic mirror dimming system.

5. Remove the mirror glass.

Installation

6. Connect the mirror heating connector. Secure the automatic dimming plug.



7. Install the mirror glass so that the mounting brackets are located above the tabs.

When installing the mirror glass, always wear gloves or use a clean cloth. There is a risk of injury due to glass breakage!
