Adjusting windshield washer nozzles (BMW 3 Series E46)

1. Mark the water jet impact points on the glass according to the given dimensions using adhesive tape or a felt-tip pen and turn on the windshield washer. The water jets should hit the center of the 60 x 80 mm field. Otherwise, adjust the nozzles (refer to the accompanying illustration).



2. The dimensions for adjusting the water jets are shown in the illustration. The basis is the sealing edges of the windshield.

• A2 = 445 mm
• B1 = 400 mm
• B2 = 270 mm
• C1 = 500 mm
• C2 = 350 mm
• D1 = 260 mm
• D2 = 550 mm

3. The directions of the injector jets can be adjusted if necessary with a suitable needle. Service stations use a special tool HAZET 4850-1 for this. The tool consists of a telescopic rod with a needle. The extended telescopic rod indicates the direction of the injector jet more precisely than, for example, a needle.
