Removal and installation the washer reservoir/pump (BMW 3 Series E46)
Reservoir with windshield and headlight washer pumps
1 — washer reservoir
2 - grid
3 — lid
4 — headlight washer pump
5 - grid
6 — windshield washer pump
7 — grid
8 — level sensor
9 - heat shield
10 - self-tapping screw
11 - nut
Removal

1. Unscrew the bolts securing the reservoir "1" to the left shock absorber strut "2" and remove it from the lower guide "3".
2. Disconnect the washer pump connector.
Caution: If only the pump needs to be replaced, leave the reservoir in the engine compartment. Prepare a new pump. Remove the pump from the reservoir and cover the hole with your finger. Immediately place the new pump in the hole on the reservoir.
3. Drain the water from the tank into an appropriate container.
4. Remove the hose and take out the tank.
5. Remove the pump from the tank.

Installation
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
