Tightening the brake
The lever is self-locking. If the ignition key is in position 2, then the control lamp on the dashboard will light up.
Release the brake
Pull the lever up a little, press the button and push the lever down.
The parking brake is intended only to hold a stationary vehicle from spontaneous starting and acts on the rear wheels.
If, as an exception, you have to use the parking brake while driving, then do not tighten it with great force. In this case, keep the button on the lever pressed at all times.
Applying the parking brake too hard can cause the rear wheels to lock up and cause the vehicle to skid. When the parking brake is applied, the brake lights do not light up.
Cars with manual transmission: when parking on steep roads, apply the parking brake, as engaging first gear or reverse gear under certain circumstances is not enough to prevent the vehicle from moving away spontaneously.
Vehicles with AT: move the AT selector lever to position P.
To avoid corrosion, lightly apply the parking brake lever from time to time when approaching a traffic light at low speed, if, of course, the traffic situation allows this.
