The noise that occurs when winding the belt is normal. If there is excessive noise, the belt must be replaced. Under no circumstances should oil or grease be used to eliminate noise. The belt rewinder and tensioner must not be dismantled for safety reasons.
1. Pull out the seat belt fully and check the webbing for broken threads. If there are abrasions without separating the fibers, the belt should not be replaced.
2. Damage can be caused by, for example, a pinched belt or exposure to a burning cigarette. In this case, the belt must be replaced.
3. If there is abrasion without signs of damage to the threads, it is not necessary to replace the belt.
4. A belt that is hard to move should be checked for twists. If necessary, remove trim on B-pillar.
5. If the rewinder does not work, the belt must be replaced (service station work).
6. The belt webbing can only be cleaned with soap and water. Under no circumstances should solvents or chemical cleaners be used for this.
