Removal and installation ignition coils/ignition cables (BMW 3 Series E46)
Models 316i, 318i
1. Disconnect the spark plug connectors by turning the regulator "1" to the left.
2. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the ignition coils to the holder and remove the coils.
3. Label the ignition cables with tape to avoid confusion. Cylinder 1 is at the front in the direction of travel. Disconnect the cables from the underside of the ignition coils.
4. Disconnect the spark plug cables.
5. Connect the spark plug cables to the spark plugs.
6. Connect the ignition cables to the coils at the bottom, observing the markings.
7. Secure the ignition coils to the holder with two nuts.
8. Connect the plug connections of the ignition coils and secure with flywheels.
Removal
