Withdrawal
Switch off the ignition.
Remove the caps of the mounting bolts and unscrew the 2 bolts located under them.
Remove the oil filler cap and cylinder head lining.
Remove the plug from each ignition coil by pulling the metal clip on the plug up.
Loosen 2 fastening bolts for each coil and pull out the coils.
Attention: The ignition coils of cylinders 1 and 8 have flexible jumpers. Weights -3- with cylinder head cover.
If there is a metal lining of the cylinder head: the flexible ground bridge from the wire shaft is located between cylinders 2 and 3.
If there is a plastic cover for the cylinder head: The mass wire -1- is attached to the connecting plate -2-, see illustration. During installation, the wires must again be attached to their original places.
Examination
Measure the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil by connecting an ohmmeter to terminals 1 and 15. The prescribed resistance value is approximately 0.8Ω.
Attention: secondary winding resistance (between spark plug connector, pin 4 and ground) not measured.
Replacing the spark plug tip is outlined here.
Installation
Insert the spark plug coils and connect them to the flexible jumpers.
Secure the plugs to the ignition coils with metal clips.
Install the cylinder head cover. Screw on the oil filler cap.
