Withdrawal
Switch off the ignition. Pry off the covers of the mounting bolts and unscrew the two bolts under the covers.
Remove the oil filler cap and cylinder head cover.
Pull the plugs off each of the coils by pulling up the metal clips on the plugs.
Unscrew the two mounting bolts on each ignition coil and pull out the coils.
Attention: On coils of 1 and 6 cylinders, pay attention to the valve cover ground tires. On the metal valve cover, note the ground bus from the wiring harness between cylinders 2 and 3. On the plastic valve cover, note the ground wire on the junction box. When installing the wire, install in the same position.
Examination
1 - contact 15;
2 - contact 4;
3 - contact 1.
The illustration shows the plug of one of the ignition coils.
Connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 15 and measure the primary resistance. It should be around 0.8 ohm.
Attention: secondary winding resistance (between spark plug contact, terminal 4 and ground) not measured.
Replace spark plug plug.
Installation
Install ignition coils with spark plug connectors and bolt together with ground straps.
Put the plug on the ignition coil and secure it with a metal clip.
Install cladding (casing) valve cover and oil filler cap.
