Attention! If you had to remove the accelerator pedal, then it will have to be replaced. When removing the pedal, the parts of its fastening will be damaged. In this case, extra backlash will appear and control accuracy will deteriorate, which can cause an accident.
Cable operated throttle models
1. Press down on the carpet under the pedal, then fold back the lower pedal latches. Lever release the pedal from the floor (pic. 6.1). Release the pedal from the cable control lever. Discard the pedal - you will have to install a new one.
2. Attach the throttle cable control lever to the new pedal.
3. Push the pedal down until the lower latches hook into the floor panel. Make sure the latches are in place and securely latched.
4. Check cable adjustment as indicated in paragraph 5.
Models with electric throttle control
5. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, press the latch (pic. 6.5) and move the pedal towards the center of the passenger compartment. Disconnect the electrical connector plug as soon as it becomes accessible.
6. When installing the pedal, connect the electrical connector first, and push the pedal into the cradle. If properly installed, you should hear two clicks of the latches snapping into place and the side of the pedal should be flush with the edge of the cradle.
