Since model year 1977 on BMW "525", "528" and "528i" was equipped with a Bosch starter type GF 12 V 1.0 kW with the following characteristics:

• direction of rotation of the anchor: right;
• maximum anchor speed, rpm: 13000;
• operating voltage, V: 6-12;
• control voltage, V: 13;
• control temperature,°C: +20;
• rated power at 210 A current and 9.8 V terminal voltage, kW (hp): 1.03 (1.4);
• maximum braking torque at a current of 380 A and a terminal voltage of 8 V, kgf·m: 1.75.
