Vehicles without clearance control
Attention: Dismantling of an amortization rack see above.
Withdrawal
Limousine: Remove the back of the rear seat.
Touring model: Remove the rear wheel lockers.
Raise the back of the car.
Support the diagonal lever with a jack, placing a wooden gasket so that the bridge does not fall after removing the suspension strut.
Attention: If the rear wheel is lowered a lot after the shock absorber has been removed, the CV joints of the axle shafts may be damaged.
Unbolt suspension strut from diagonal arm.
Remove shock absorber cap.
Remove rubber cap.
Loosen the 3 nuts of the centering cup.
Remove gasket.
Pull the suspension strut down.
Attention: Only store the shock absorber in a standing position. If you store the shock absorber with the piston rod retracted in the supine position after the shock absorber is installed on the vehicle, knocking may occur. If necessary, store the shock absorber with the shock absorber extended at room temperature for no more than 24 hours.
Installation
Check shock absorber.
Insert a new gasket into the suspension strut centering cup.
Insert suspension strut and tighten new self-locking nuts in the passenger compartment with a tightening torque of 25 Nm.
Put on the rubber cap and cap.
Attach the lower part of the suspension strut.
Tighten the lower mounting bolt to 125 Nm.
Install the rear seat backrest or rear wheel lockers.
