Cable connectors (BMW 5 Series E34)

The BMW 5 Series is equipped with a new system of 2.5 mm round connectors, which guarantee maximum operational reliability. The connectors have rotating or sliding locks, and are partially waterproof.

Before removing connectors type 1 through 4, press down on the metal retaining clip (Figure W - 5421). When connecting, snap the clip into place.

On some connectors (5 and 6) put on the rubber protective cap.

Most of the connectors in the cabin are Type 10 connectors. When disconnecting, squeeze both clamps together.

Positions 12 to 19 are round connectors, which are used, for example, in the lambda probe or to connect the electrical wiring in the front bumper. To disconnect, screw in a screw with a notch 14.
