Replacing the positive battery cable (from the battery to the connector on the engine compartment bulkhead)



Caution: Observe safety precautions when handling batteries.


1. Remove the right rear wheel arch trim.

2. Remove the instrument panel trim.

3. Remove the right front seat.

4. Remove the center woofer cover.

5. Remove the right door pillar trim.

6. Unlock and disconnect the connector (2).

7. Disconnect the negative battery cable (1).

8. Open the cover (3) of the positive terminal.

9. Unscrew the nut (3).

Tightening torque: 15 Nm.

10. Disconnect the wire (4).

11. Unscrew the nut (1) of the emergency shutdown terminal (2).

Tightening torque: 5 Nm.

Caution: Never pull forcefully or use a lever to disconnect the emergency stop terminal (2).




12. Disconnect the emergency stop terminal (2) by moving it upwards, move it to the side and secure it.

13. Hook and remove the plugs (1).

14. Remove the screws (2).

15. Remove the tire (3) by moving it upwards.

Caution: Do not bend the underbody trim.


16. Cut the floor covering (1) in area (2) and fold it back.

Note: When installing, it is necessary to cut the floor sheathing at the marked places (2). Connect the cut sheathing with cable ties (short ones).


17. Unlock the clamp (1) of the cable lug and move it upwards.

18. Unscrew the screw (2).

Tightening torque: 19 Nm.

19. Disconnect the clamp (1) of the cable lug from the positive cable (3) of the battery and remove.

Attention: When installing, pay attention to the correct position of the clamp (1) of the cable lug on the positive cable (3) of the battery and to the correct tightening.


Note: For clarity, the following images show the front/rear floor trim removed.


20. Lift the floor trim at the front/rear in the area of the wire from the positive terminal of the battery.

21. Remove the front insert (1).

22. Release the positive battery cable (1) from the holders (2).

23. Release the positive battery cable (1) from the holders (2) and remove.


23. Release the positive battery cable (1) from the holders (2) and remove.

24. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
